So many crazy cars i couldn’t fit like a lot of Group B cars, Jaguar F-Type Project 7, the new Aston Martin...DB11 I think, and quite a few new McLarens!

Any correction or additions for model names etc do say ) In the book from the show it says both TVR and TR twice for the Speed 12 so doesn’t seem like a typo!

Man the EB110 SS will always have a special place in my heart. 0-62 in 3.2 seconds in the 90's! I think the looks are killer too.

I love the Noble M600 but it looked like a Camry alongside the rest of the photos.

Yea the SS is my fav non-Lambo, love everything about it it was at the top of the game back then, and yea that flat orange doesn’t help, the speedster looked much more like its cost

I just don’t get it... how does one even get all these cars in one place at one time??!?

The monetary value of everything in this show is just astronomical. The cultural value of it all is beyond compare. Granted, I’m a little more attuned to more modern cars like these, but to me, this Salon Prive thing absolutely shames Pebble Beach and anything else I’ve ever seen. And yet this is the only time I’ve heard of this.

And speaking of which, how did you even get admittance to this?? I wouldn’t believe that this would be open to the general public, would it...?

HOLY SHIT WHERE DID THAT SPEED 12 COME FROM THESE AREN’T SUPPOSED TO EXIST

OF ALL THE DIFFERENT COLORS AND LAYOUTS I’VE SEEN OF THIS CAR OVER THE YEARS I’VE NEVER SEEN THIS ONE AND TECHNICALLY NONE OF THEM SHOULD EXIST ESPECIALLY NOT OUTDOORS AND IN THE FLESH I NEED TO KNOW MORE

If I saw this I’d actually fall over and start frothing at the mouth

Hey, it’s certainly insane in terms of the cars that turn up! What makes it end up like this is, the event (at Blenheim Palace) is first of all a place where they trade and auction very expensive cars like decades old 1-of-3 coachbuilt cars etc. A lot of those potential customers are coming in their nice cars (nice being a hilarious understatement) where a lot of my pics came from. And because these people are attending, car companies and, say “lifestyle” companies have stalls there selling premium stuff so you have great cars on display from companies too but also cool extra things like hospitality, food, music, and shops. In terms of admittance it’s open to anyone, but they price it so that most won’t go. Infact this is one of the things they say in the brochures, enjoy a day out with the cars etc “without the queues associated with such events” there’s also a dress code. So i got the combined ticket that got me to see the important stuff but the main ticket which costs 3 times more than what i paid (£118 after VAT) is what gets you access to the auction as well as the hospitality stuff. And these pics frankly are nothing, they were cars to make your head spin in 8 classes, say 10 cars each class! Apart from the 25 years of the Diablo class i took some pics of in the other post there was wind in your hair class for convertibles, “to the track and back” (great name!) for road-legal track toys (and some really fast ones that day including Ariel, Radical and some i didn’t recognise), the damn Knight Rider KITT car was there! Just really no words and maybe not enough pics :D

It was really interesting to see that car (even among v interesting cars) cos it seems it’s a Speed 12 evolution, the book calls it TVR TR Speed 12 and the car has a tasty Turbo decal at the rear :D Book says power is 1025hp but Speed 12 had approx 800 on launch and certainly didn’t have that much downforce at first! One of the things i noticed was the size of the brakes - in this class of cars we are used to seeing massive brakes but in this car i literally couldn’t see the edge of the brakes! Even though those rims are huge too!

Oh and also, this is apparently the only professionally judged car show in the UK. Many cars being exhibited or competing for a prize go through long and costly restorations just for this event. It’s that prestige that attracts the ridiculously exclusive cars you see there. Well you don’t because i’m not really into classics so not many pics but believe me there were cars that looked like early 1900s there! If you search Salon Prive on oppo there’s a pro photgrapher/car mag that has great shots including the classics

Thanks for all this background! I had no idea so I certainly learned a bit and you thoroughly satisfied my curiosity. When I finally do get around to making that trip across the pond, I’ll see if there’s any way to squeeze this in o_O (although it’ll no doubt be much easier to fulfill my wish to go see a Premier League first)

Wow! Turbo!? Peter Wheeler called it undriveable, and someone’s turbocharged it!?

So someone is using it as a racing car then? Were many produced for racing do you know?

I’m glad the rims are there for practical reasons, I find them garish.

As far as I know only 1 got modified for racing, in pics I’ve seen online it has a heavily vented bonnet and aero upgrades similar to car pictured, this may be that car or another (that 1's a pearl red/orange iirc)
